CLOSETS
Freshly renovated closet? I helped this client put it to its best use with a gorgeous and efficient system to divide his and hers.
If you feel overwhelmed by your exploding closet, I can help! I love making a closet into a space of inspiration, where getting dressed every day becomes an act of joy.
Small closet? I helped this client avoid a major renovation with a new strategy for how to arrange her apparel and accessories, and I helped her purge what she no longer wears.
Hard Truth: it gets worse before it gets better. My process allows me to really *get to know* your belongings and best advise on their placement.
Quirky craftsman houses have some strange closets! I can help solve unique storage problems with creative solutions that don't involve major renovations.
KITCHENS
This client had done a gorgeous renovation on her kitchen, but didn't know how to let the design shine. These open shelves begged for pretty items to be displayed, so we moved the less attractive items into cabinets and drawers so we could show off the handmade ceramics.
Just moved in? Allow me to set your kitchen up expertly for a seamless transition into your new home. Defining spaces for each category is crucial!
I approach each client's home with respect for how they function first- if you cook more often than bake, let's make your pots and pans more accessible than the muffin tins!
Counter space is golden! I can help find room for all your necessary kitchen items within cabinets, keeping only the fresh and attractive items out.

KIDS' SPACES
Creating a peaceful space for kids can be a challenge. This youngster was feeling overstimulated in his bedroom, so we moved many toys out and into their own play space.
Many homes come with odd nooks and corners- I can help find good use for them! This weird alcove in the den turned into a perfect play space for kiddo.
Teens can learn how to be organized too! This creative young lady needed an initial push to re-set her space, and then we discussed long term strategies for how to maintain it.
I love to utilize items already in your home to create structure. These Ikea cubbies were collecting clutter before, but now add to the efficiency of this boy's closet!
From guest bedroom to love-filled nursery. I helped these clients with paint selection, furniture selection, and layout. I love helping clients prepare for exciting life changes!
More nursery details: I helped these clients purge and re-allocate storage items, and then added some shelving to baby's closet that will evolve as he grows up.
Creating a therapy space where children can feel excited to grow and explore was so much fun. This client and I worked together to decide on an "adventure" theme and add ok-to-play décor that added tactility to a bright aesthetic.
Organization is for the whole family! I can help provide strategies to maintain the lovely new space that even kids can participate in.
OFFICES
If your office has turned into a place you avoid, Emma Spring can help! I can help tackle the old paperwork, bric-a-brac, and electronics to create a productive space.
This client had most of the moving parts already, but needed help pulling it all together! I can help a client-facing office space go from "almost there" to absolutely perfect.
When in-person proof-of-concept exercises aren't possible, I can provide digital renders to show how a room's layout can be improved.
GARAGE / STORAGE
Inherited clutter is more than just junk! I helped this family parse through what was sentimental, sellable, and donatable, and created a clay-throwing space to boot!
The home is truly an interlocking system- what lives in one space affects another. Re-thinking best items per location is a crucial part of a whole-home re-organization.
No project is too daunting for Emma Spring!
WARDROBE UPCYCLING
This family heirloom was in great shape but needed an update to feel modern. I revised the placket and buttons for a modern neckline and shortened the skirt for a flirty mini that works for all seasons.
This coral stunner felt very current in 2011, with ruffle sleeves, collar, and a textured belt. Flash forward to 2020: fashion trends and my own aesthetics have evolved. I removed the sleeves, collar, belt, and let down the hem several inches for a new streamlined silhouette that feels like "me" again!
I found these vegan leather pants at a thrift shop, and while I did love them for a season, recently I've been turned off by the silver zippers at the hem. I decided to turn these into an on-trend pair of shorts and added extra fabric to the sides for a relaxed and modern fit.
This black Michael Kors dress was made of a slinky thin jersey that required Spanx for my client to feel confident in- which meant she just never wore it! We rescued this piece from a landfill by turning it into a great flowy top!
Sometimes I get so excited for a redesign, I forget the Before Photos! All garments shown here used to be something else.
Our bodies all change over time, but that doesn't mean you need to throw out old favorites! I used lace from another garment to create insets that allow this flirty piece to zip up again. The additional fabric is invisible from a distance, but gorgeous up close.
This lightweight top didn't sit quite right on my client's frame, causing it to pull across the back. We decided together to make it sleeveless, and use the sleeve fabric to add a pretty "V" in the back for more ease through the body.
This gorgeous asymmetrical dress had recently become just a little too snug all over, so I upcycled the fabric from another garment to make graphic and modern side stripes. Now my client has the right amount of room to feel both sexy and comfortable in this stunner.
This old favorite felt a bit dated as a column maxi with athletic fabric (hello 2012), so I shortened the length drastically and used the excess fabric as side seam insets to create a flirty flare.
Now this dress is modern and sport friendly!
Sometimes all you need is a tiny tweak to feel great in a garment! This bow in the back gave my client a waistline while maintaining a breezy feeling.
